Training Your Pitbull to Sit

The sit command is one of the most basic yet recommended commands for every pitbull owner out there. This command is particularly useful when training your puppy various of other commands. What we’re going to try to accomplish is make our pitbull puppy sit when we give him a vocal command prompting our puppy to do so.

Here’s what you will need: :

1. A pitbull 2. Yummy dog treats 3. 15 Minutes a day 4. Enthusiasm

The first step is to get the puppy’s attention. Remember if the puppy isn’t paying attention you can either find a quiet place or simply do it another time. As soon as your puppy gets bored and doesn’t want to do command learning anymore stop and continue later on.

Once you got your puppy’s attention with one of his favorite treats (place it in your hand in front of his nose but don’t let him eat it) make sure he’s in a standing position and give him the command -Roxy, Sit!-. Keep in mind that you need to first call out your puppy’s name to get his attention and make him know that you’re referring to him following your command. This is to prevent your puppy from repeating the command whenever you mention the word -Sit- in a conversation even when you’re not referring to your dog.

Now gently push him down in a sitting position (you can use the treat to help you motivate him to do what you want him to) and let him have it as soon as he sits down and praise enthusiastically. Praise and treats should be given no more than 5 seconds after your puppy successfully sits. The quicker the better as your dog will be able to better associate the command with the treats. If you praise him more than 5 seconds after he sits down then he may not be able to associate the praise with the command and the action so make sure to do it quickly!

What this does is it associates the command -Sit- with the sitting position. Because you are praising him and providing treats he will quickly learn that when you say -Sit- he will get praised and rewarded for good job done. This concept applies to many other commands and even behavioral corrections. Positive reinforcement training method is one of the best methods to train your dog.

One of the important things to remember is to repeat this process every day for 5 to 10 minutes or until your puppy doesn’t want to learn any longer. Always remember that a quieter place will make it easier for your puppy to concentrate and you will overall experience better success. Congratulations, you successfully trained pitbull to sit.

Positive Effects Of Music Education For Your Child

Over the years, documented studies have confirmed the benefits of music education on new born and children. Music education benefits include everything from changing a students’ mood to helping them solve math problems. In general, it helps a student become successful in the school environment. Music has immediate effects on brain activity which scientists are still studying today.

For example, a study was done that involved second graders and math. In this study, the school kids were divided into two groups. One group used newly-designed math software to augment their mathematical skills. The other group also used this software but in addition the kids in this group received piano keyboard training. What are the results?

Both groups were tested and the second group of students scored twenty-seven percent higher on the math exam than the first group, which seem to show the positive effects of combining music teaching into other studies. Numerous studies have shown that learning and exposure to music results in improved communication between students. Fights and arguments are reduced. Also students who play in school bands are less likely to use tobacco and alcohol.

Ongoing research at the University of California-Irvine and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2) demonstrate that learning and playing music builds or modifies Neural pathways related to spatial reasoning tasks, which are crucial for higher brain functions like complex maths, chess and science.

The first studies showed that listening to a Mozart sonata temporarily improved a child’s spatial abilities. Further studies compared children who had computer lessons, children who had singing lessons, children who learned music using a Keyboard and children who did nothing additional. The children who had had the Music classes scored significantly higher – up to 35% higher – than the children did Who had computer classes or did nothing additional
Benefits of music education also include enhancing interpersonal communication skills. This result has also been proven by some of the many studies done throughout the years. A student who is having difficulty concentrating may find it easier when music classes have been added to the curriculum. Playing music helps a student become more self-disciplined and able to control their behavior better, because it provides an acceptable form of self expression.

If students learn to study music successfully they can use the same method to help them study in other classes. They will find it easier to understand instructions. Added benefits of music education include increasing a child’s creativity and helping him or her learn to cooperate with other students. Their social interaction skills improve after playing music together in a group.

In newborns, exposure to music is proven to help develop intelligence. Exposure to classical music helps develop reasoning and language skills in children when begun at an early age. In older children, music education helps them extend their knowledge of the world around them. Music education gives children an avenue to contribute to society, which in turn helps them in life. They are more likely to become well-rounded individuals.

What To Expect From Management Training

When it comes to management training, there are several key aspects that need to be addressed to become a competent and efficient manager. These revolve around key factors such as communication, understanding, empathy and time management. Here are some top tips for effective management training at all levels.

Effective communication is the key to getting your message across to your staff. If you are finding that employees are not carrying out tasks correctly, you should ascertain whether or not you are communicating your requirements correctly. Each person understands and learns in a different way, therefore management training will teach a manager various ways to communicate using written, verbal and demonstrative techniques.

A large part of resolving communication problems comes from listening to the needs and questions of your staff. The skills needed to understand perceived obstacles or general problems will be taught through a management training programme. Methods such as appraisals, team meetings and even feedback forms are useful ways to enhance an understanding of staff issues.

When issues are raised, or an employee comes to a manger with personal problems, it is essential that an effective manger can empathise with the situation at hand and see the situation from the other person’s point of view. Empathy comes from understanding and communication combined. Management training will focus on techniques to think outside the box and put yourself in the other persons shoes. A manager that can express empathy will be more approachable, and become a person that a member of staff will respect and turn to when problems arise.

As well as understanding the needs of staff, a manager needs to make sure that a company or business runs efficiently, productively and above all, profitably. Time management techniques will ensure that the right amount of time is spent on looking after the company as well as the staff. By using a schedule to arrange appointments, meetings and appraisals, a manager will be able to take charge of all aspects of the business. Management training will highlight areas that need monitoring and show how and what to prioritise.

Ultimately, management training offers a holistic approach to management. There is no one skill that can improve management performance; instead it is a mixture of skills that often overlap. Once a manager has taken steps to improve the key issues, it is possible to develop on a personal level and use the skills learned to fit specific situations that arise in the day to day business environment.
